In ihren abstrakten Werken bringt sie Kraft und Vielfalt der gesamten Schöpfung zum Ausdruck, die in der Komplexität und Genialität des menschlichen Körpers und in ihren abstrakten Kompositionen durch eine harmonische Balance zwischen Formgestaltung und Farbkonzepten ihren Widerhall findet. Diese Welt der „verborgenen Harmonie“, wie es die Künstlerin nennt, soll den Betrachter ihrer Werke im Innersten ergreifen und ihn an den kreativen Ideen der Künstlerin teilhaben lassen. Unter Anlehnung an Dürer wendet Christina Steinwendtner insbesondere in ihren Aktbildern die Weißhöhung und Reduzierung als künstlerisches Gestaltungsmittel an, ebenso wie in ihren abstrakten Arbeiten das Prinzip einer Verbindung von Bild und Schrift.
